The Veto #comfortablyfast Ride returns on 4th January Normally on the first Saturday of each month in Dubai, UAE. |
You are invited to the Veto #ComfortablyFast Ride!
This ride is intended for like-minded cyclists who are looking for a longer, comfortably fast ride once a month.
- Start from BOTS, Al Qudra (Arabian Ranches 2 Mall for a longer ride).
- Approximately 140km following an anti-clockwise loop.
- Water refill at the mosque ready plus a coffee break - location tbc.
- Average pace - somewhere between 35 and 38kph.
During the kilometres returning to Zads, the speed of the peloton may accelerate - which could lead to a split of the group. No problem, form a group with those nearest you, cruise at your pace and we'll regroup over a coffee at Zads.
Fill your water bottles, pack your pockets with nutrition and don your favourite socks to join the ride.

BiKlean provide a highly professional en-suite service for your bike wherever you are located! The BiKlean vans are always around Al Qudra in the mornings enabling riders to have their precious bikes meticulously cleaned before leaving.
Pace? Comfortably fast of course!
The speed is mostly a consequence of weather conditions on the day and length of pulls from the stronger riders. We expect the average ride speed you'll be posting on Strava will be somewhere between 34 and 38kph.
It's not so fast that you'll require a TT bike - road bikes only please!
Drop or No Drop Ride?
We try to make this a no-drop ride where possible.
If there is an incident - for a puncture as an example, we will stop the main group to help. More hands (and opinions) are better than one.
If you are visibly struggling on the ride, please don't be offended if we recommend that you take the shortest route back to your starting point.
At Al Qudra, the speed will build in the kilometres before the coffee stop. If you drop at this point, the group won't stop so you need to be able to cruise to the coffee stop under your own steam or in a gruppetto.
Can I manage it?
Although there will be many supportive riders in the group encouraging your completion, we recommend that you only join if you have good experience of riding your road bike for distances beyond 100kms - solo.
This isn't a supported ride (yet) so you need to know you can complete the distance whilst supporting yourself for the full distance. Make sure you have sufficient nutrition and water plus plenty of spares for any punctures and bike repairs.

By participating in the Veto #comfortablyfast Ride [the Event], you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:
- Assumption of Risk: You understand that participating in a cycling group involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical exertion, exposure to adverse weather conditions, traffic, road conditions, equipment failure, and accidents with other participants. You voluntarily assume all risks associated with your participation in the Event.
- Release of Liability: You release and discharge Veto Socks (Flipside General Trading LLC), its affiliates, sponsors, partners, volunteers, and any other parties involved in the organization and conduct of the Veto #comfortablyfast Ride from any and all claims, liabilities, or causes of action, including personal injury, death, or property damage, arising out of or in connection with your participation in the Event.
- Compliance with Laws and Regulations: You agree to abide by all applicable laws, regulations, and Event rules.
- Equipment and Safety: You are responsible for ensuring that your bicycle and related equipment are in good working condition. You agree to wear a helmet and other appropriate safety gear at all times during the Event.
- Photography and Media Release: You grant Veto Socks, its affiliates, sponsors, and partners the right to use your name, photograph, and any other media in which you appear for promotional purposes, without compensation.
- Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Veto Socks, its affiliates, sponsors, partners, and volunteers from any and all claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your participation in the Event.
