Care for Your Socks

Tips for Longevity and Performance

Proper care of your Veto Socks ensures they stay comfortable, high-performing, and last as long as possible. Follow these care instructions to keep your socks in top condition for all your cycling (and other activities) needs.

Removing Socks from Packaging

When you receive your Veto Socks, handle them with care as you remove them from the packaging. Please remember to recycle the cardboard packaging to help reduce environmental impact.

Washing Instructions

Taking care of your socks begins with proper washing. For optimal performance and longevity, follow these simple guidelines:

  • Wash at a temperature of 40°C or lower: Any higher temperature may cause your socks to distort and lose their fit and comfort.
  • Separate bold colours: To prevent colour transfer, wash bold colours separately (e.g., wash white socks only with other white garments).
  • Use a gentle cycle: Wash your socks using the gentle cycle to preserve their structure, stretch, and breathability.
  • Avoid fabric softeners: Fabric softeners can compromise the moisture-wicking properties and overall performance of your socks.

Drying Instructions

To ensure your Veto Socks retain their shape and performance, please follow these drying tips:

  • Air dry naturally: Lay your socks flat to dry in a cool, dry place. Avoid direct heat or sunlight as it can damage the fibers and elastic.
  • Do not tumble dry or iron: High heat from a tumble dryer or iron can degrade the fabric, causing your socks to lose their elasticity and performance features.

Special Care for White Socks

White socks require a little extra attention to keep them looking fresh and clean:

  • Choose the right detergent: Some detergents are more effective at keeping your socks white than others. While we can’t recommend specific brands, we suggest that powdered detergent tends to work better for white socks than liquid detergent.

Additional Care Tips

  • Avoid damage from sharp objects: Be cautious around rough surfaces and avoid contact with sharp edges that could damage or snag your socks.
  • Store properly: When not in use, store your socks in a cool, dry place, and keep them organized to avoid unnecessary stretching.
  • Eco-friendly washing: If your socks are still clean, try wearing them a few times before washing to save water and energy.
